Hawaii photographer accused of child sex trafficking and sextortion indicted by feds

The Hawaii photographer accused of attempting to coerce a 15-year-old into sex was indicted by a federal grand jury on Wednesday. The indictment charges Dustin Trey Miyakawa, 32, with attempted enticement and coercion of a minor, solicitation of a minor for a commercial sex act, and attempted production of child pornography. “Miyakawa advertises on social media as a photographer and uses Instagram to lure a teenage minor to his apartment where he then photographed her, offered her money for sex and then tried to extort her when she refused,” Kenji Price, U.S. Attorney District of Hawaii, said. Federal authorities have organized a joint task force with the Honolulu Police Department because of multiple reports of child sex trafficking.
